It’s hard to avoid making puns about “Crash” actor Matt Dillon when he’s caught driving massively over the speed limit, but we think we can contain ourselves.

Dillon was charged in Vermont for speeding when he clocked 106 mph on a 65 mph highway. We know Vermont’s highways can be pretty deserted at night, but last we checked, it’s still not the autobahn. Whoever’s going 106 mph at night in Vermont wants to get the heck out of Vermont fast.

Dillon has a court date of January 21st.

Patrick Swayze was involved in a close encounter with potentially hazardous materials at the Berwyn police station where he was filming for his A&E drama The Beast.

A Comcast worker walked into the police station carrying a box of white powder which he wanted to report to the police. When the contents tested negative for cocaine, concerns arose about the possbility of anthrax.

The contents turned out to be corn starch, and five people who were quarantined after the discovery have been released. As Patrick didn’t go near the powder, he was safe from any danger. (source)

We’re sad to continue the story of Jennifer Hudson’s family tragedy with this terrible twist: Jennifer Hudson’s missing nephew Julian King, for whom an Amber Alert had been issued and a $100,000 reward had been posted by the singer/actress, was found dead in the SUV included in the Amber Alert earlier today. This follows the shooting of her mother and brother on Friday, after which Julian disappeared.

Crowds are flocking to the Hudson family home with tokens of affection, respect, and mourning. Even Barack Obama issued a statement of support for Jennifer & her family in this difficult time. We lend our voice to theirs in sympathy.

Police have taken a suspect in for questioning in the case of the tragic murder of Jennifer Hudson’s mother and brother. The suspect is Jennifer’s brother-in-law, father of Jennifer’s nephew Julian - who is still missing. An Amber Alert remains in effect and Jennifer has offered a $100,000 reward.
